Acquiring Previous Equip. Materials

Hello, is there any way to collect older materials? I am trying to fill out my equipment journal, but I need more iron materials to make the older items. They aren’t in the shop, aren’t dropped by bosses, in the rift, or the altar. How can I get more of the older materials?
